If you are looking for sound, work on the exhaust. You just can throw a cam into a 86. It opens up a whole can of worms, especially with tuning.

good luck

The ECM on your early C4 does not have a lot of flexibility for the cam built in. If you go to a much more radical cam than the OEM one for the hot rod idle quality and sound you will also need a custom tune at the minimum. If you want sound volume and aren't going to be upset by drone at cruise a set of Flow Masters may do it for you.

A new tune is not as easy as it sounds. Typically tuning for these cars takes people months and sometimes never ends. Well, for correct tunes that is. Some people never stop making changes to the tune also.

Or find a well recommended professional with a dyno and have him tune it for you.

That or try your luck with something mail order. http://hitechmotorsport.com/tuning/b...category_id=76

I would use that mail order so I can get the car running to their facility if I didn't want to tow.

http://www.soundracer.se/ + Loud stereo. Turn it off when you go to a residential area, fire it up when you find someone you want to impress
