Like the title says my daughter's 1987 has starting idling so low when cold it stalls and when it gets up to temp it idles around 1200 rpm. The engine runs absolutely great when driving. It's just the idling issue.

I've changed the IAC and cleaned the throttle body and nothing's changed.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would say do a minimum idle adjust it is around 6 steps. If idle is still off you should look into codes or tps senser mabey going bad. The procedure is in the forum.

Vacuum leak.

Could be a bad coolant temperature sensor (or associated wiring/connectors) telling the ECM that the coolant is always cold.

Error codes?
