Rough going into reverse
For some reason my 91 6-speed has gotten very hard to shift into reverse.
Forward gears are a little rougher but not bad. Have not had time to check lube level, just got back from 3000 mile road trip. Any ideas?

You probably already know this, but you said any ideas so here goes: Do you put it in a forward gear before going to reverse? I have to on mine or the gears will grind. I don't know much about trannies, but they say that when you do this it helps line the sprockets up. Just a suggestion. :cheers:

My gearbox had the same troubles, I swapped the fluid using GM factory lube, no change. I swapped the lube to Castrol Synthetic 10W-60 (from the BMW dealer, it's ZF approved), installed a Hurst shifter and bleed the clutch. Now it's smooth a silk. If I was you, I'd swap the fluid and bleed the clutch first, chances are it's never been done.
