Default My A/C blows (actually, it doesn't!)

I have been wondering, how hard does the fan on your A/C fan blow? Mine is very weak (that is, when it works) It is very spuratic. Some time it doesn't blow at all. If I stop and resart the car, and get into the throttle, it starts to work. But it never really blows hard, cold, but not hard. What's the deal?

Sounds like the blower motor needs replaced. I got one for my '85 for $20.

it could be the blower motor as listed above but you could also have trash on the inlet of the coil. you need to pull the blower motor out, and look into the hole and see if leaves and trash is blocking the coil. hope this helps, email back if you need further assistance or trouble shooting ideas.

Assuming this is electronic air, could be the dash assembly isn't sending the correct signal to the blower control module or the module itself may be bad. Start by getting a voltage reading at the blower motor harness with the fan on high. It should be 12 volts or greater. You can also jumper the blower directly from the battery to see if it runs any faster. If the voltage isn't right, then you will need to check the input to the module which should be 6 to 7 volts with the fan on high. If that's good, the module is bad. If not, you need to troubleshoot the dash assembly. Potential faults would include an in car or outside air temp sensor out of range, though either should give you a code on the assembly; ie, flashing light above the temp readout.

i'd check to see what codes it throwing. I have 91, all you have to do is push the fan up/down buttons at the same time wait 5 sec and hit auto, it will give you any fault codes that it has in memory. Maybe yours is the same? :D
