Hello,
I own a 1989 Z51 with manual transmission. I plan on using the car for driving. It may see a road course every once in a while. I am trying to decide on a tire. First off I am thinking of not getting Z rated tires. This car is going to go 150 mph. I do not want to spend three hundred a tire. I was thinking of the B.F. Goodridge. Any body have a suggestion. I am buying a set of four.

At speeds that approach and pass 150, you definitely want a tire rated for those kinds of speeds. Common tire ratings for C4's would be something like W, Y and Z. The "Z" rating has been around for a long time so expect that many tires will show that particular speed rating. You do not want to "cheap out" on tires that will be taken to their limits in terms of track use.
I used Nitto NT-05's on my old 87 autocross/track day car in 275/40-17 and they seemed to do a good job on area tracks. You won't see 50,000 miles of tread life and they are are not the best tire for rainy conditions.
What BFG tire were you looking at? You might try asking your questions over in the Autocrossing & Road Racing section; you will get some good guidance and suggestions over there.
