Why change MAF relays?

Why change MAF relays?
Bought a new MAF. Have heard the advice to change the relays. Doesn't make sense to me. If their purpose is to pass current, they either work or they don't, right? Have no codes. Is it a build up of resistance over time issue? I know it's a cheap item and I'm going to do it anyway. But inquiring minds want to know. Any insights on the tech issues involved here would be appreciated. Thanks.

The most important one is the burn-off relay to keep debris build up from occuring.
I recently swapped in the MAF from my IROC without replacing the relays and all is fine.

If they are both working ok, then let sleeping dogs lie. If you are getting codes, then change them, they aren't expensive and they don't last forever.

Because if your problem is really the Relays then they can screw up the new MAF. Plus theyre cheap, so replace them.
