Default Which spring leaf?

Hi all

I need to buy a front spring leaf for my 93 and I notice there are several codes for the same leaf.

For example, FHC or FHA?

Which one fits? If any of the two fits...or perhaps both.

I see differences in the rubber at the ends og each leaf.

The sellers are telling the springs are por 84-96 corvettes, it´s that correct?

I have a '93 front here that was removed from a 30K mile recovered theft years ago along with the front suspension arms/spindle. A '93 has the "square" bumper in your upper image. Judging from various springs I've checked the transition was likely done in '92.

Theoretically only '88+ fronts will change and I'd prefer to match the exact configuration. Bumper or molded pad for the front. front trim heights appear to be different various year (close but different - I haven't compared in years).

Rears will fit all C4's, the fronts will NOT.

Are you actually in Uruguay? Shipping might be tough. I'm interested maybe depending on the shipping involved.

FHA 88-91 Base Coupe will fit through 96

FHC 88-91 Convertible will fit through 96

Both are fronts have same spring rate and firmer than 92+base springs

I would go with the FHA because you have a coupe, and so far away.

That would make sense, but as my car has the standard FE1 and looking at a table (copied below) from corvette action center forum, it says FHC......for FE1
I´m lost.....

Front spring data. Many more than I thought...

Not all yrs interchange....later yr C4 had changes in steering geometry that effected the springs physical dimensions or length and how it fit into the lower control arm. The variations were not nearly as wide as the rears were. Here, fronts varied by 30 or 40 lbs...rears went between 200 to 500.

* FRONT (18 springs - HMP is listed twice because internet data gave 2 N/mm rates)

I have both styles FHA - earlier with the molded pad (removed from a '91 ZR-1 FX3) and the later with the "square" bumper removed from a '93 coupe FE1.

If you're interested use the email link with my "user ID". I believe there are maybe many errors in the posted charts through the years. A confirmation from a build sheet would be the only confirming code.

I sent a private message, or at least I think so....I´m not very good "handling the forum" and perhaps the message never arrived.

Didn't receive a PM - just click on my user ID and you should see PM and email choice. I prefer email but PM will work.

Could you just fit coilovers and forget the springs?

Just curious, why a convertible and a coupe from same year and with same suspension, have front leaf springs with different codes?

the convertible had a different leaf to raise the car slightly to give clearance for the x braces that were fitted to them.
