It only comes on when I floor it at speeds below 30mph, sometimes, not all the time. Got a code H83 in module 9. Brake fluid isn't low. If I pull over and turn it off, the service ABS light stays off. Any ideas why it happens? The FSM basically said to check for low fluid.
I believe the FSM has suggestions for the code 83 and the first move is to check electrical connections. I'd think there should be a couple of pages of diagnostics to do "FIRST". You say it ain't low, the code is a H - HISTORY not active so I'd think the FSM and the diagnostics are the next move.
The diagnostics are pretty straight forward appearing and it ain't asking for any specialty diagnostic devices like a Tech1 OR scanner of any sort ...
I had this light come on 3 weeks ago. But after putting gas, it stayed off, so I didn't think much of it. Now that it came back, I'm gonna go after it. Sucks because it doesn't happen all the time. So I'll have to get the light to come on again. Will report back.
OK. Measured the ohms on the brake fluid level switch. FSM says if below 5 ohms, replace switch. It's really hard to get my probes in there. I was able to just barely get them in for a second, and saw 3.91 ohms on my meter. But it went back to 1 really fast, as it is super tight in there, hard to get the ohms on that switch.
Forgot to add, I took the switch out yesterday. Didn't realize how easy it comes out. Anyways, I could actually see where my probes were pointing. I got them on the switch connectors, but I wasn't getting a reading on my multimeter. Yes, I do know how to measure for ohms Bad switch? Ohmed another sensor and I did get a reading, so I know my meter is good.

Get yourself some T-pins from a sewing store, K-Mart, Walmart or any of the niche shops that specialize in needle-craft.
Been a while So it stopped doing it for a while, then came back. But only when when I went WOT. Brake fluid was JUST below the max level. Filled it up about two, or three weeks ago. And have done many WOT runs, and so far, no service abs light Let's hope it stays that way.
