Noticed that when the car is under a load, the AC stops blowing through the dash vents and all of the air is routed to the floor. This is 91 vert with automatic heat and air. HELP!
Re: AC blows different under acceleration (Mo_Bandy)
If its an LT1 or LT4 this is normal, its part of the fuel enrichment. The compressor stops for 10 seconds and then will kick back in...
mo
mine seems to stop blowing whenever i am having my hesitation at low rpm problems...i am suspecting a vacuum leak as the cause for my loss of power and just noticed the lack of air under acceleration yesterday. it comes right back as soon as i let off the gas...is that normal?
Re: AC blows different under acceleration (kyvette)
The back of the motor has a vacuum check valve that may need replacing.Mine was on the passenger side near the distributor and had a crack in it.I replaced that and it fixed the problem.I think the vaccum line also comes off the rear plenum vacuum ports, unless they change the set up on speed density cars for the Map sensor.
That vacuum line also runs across the firewall then goes inside the car to the climate control unit inside the dash.
If the line is cracked or broken or the small check valve is broken, its usualy a simple fix.
Check ALL the vacuum lines.
