91 coupe showing Code 63. I found a (supposedly) new original equipment (Bosch) brake control relay on ebay. Installed it and the light is still on in the dash.
2 questions please:
1. Is there a way to test the relay to see if I purchased a bad one? If so how?
2. Assuming the new relay I purchased was good, what do you suggest that I try next to solve the service ABS light problem?

Any help or comments are very much appreciated!
I believe the FSM mentions a check to verify relay functionality. Do you have the FSM? In your other thread I mentioned a "FIX" - have you given that any thought?

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually do have the FSM, but to be perfectly honest, it's a little too complicated for me to follow (I did try!). Same goes for the fix you mentioned earlier - don't have the tools or skills required to open the relay as shown.

The test of the relay is step ONE - it requires only a DMM - you need to sort through the chart but I'd think it shouldn't be an issue. Take the FSM or copy the relay check info, the relay(s), old and new to someone that can check for you.
If you can't diagnose it you can't fix it.
Does the information on the new relay match the old? There's likely a pin-out explanation/scheme on both relays. Is that an EXACT MATCH?
Did you clear the faults after replacing the relay? Replacing the relay only won't put out the light OR it would take maybe 100 key cycles. You need to do the jumper of the ALDL for manual "reset"I believe. FSM will have instructions I believe.
