Default LT4 Info

I am the proud original owner of a 1996 Torch Red LT4 with a black cloth top and interior. My car is fully loaded except for the select ride control option. Does anyone know how many with this color, motor, vert combination were made? I can never find anything on the internet except for the true Grand Sport model which mine is not (I believe only 1,000 GSs were made).

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Vinny

According to the "Corvette Black Book"

17,167 Coupes Produced in 1996 & 4,369 Convertibles.

6,359 LT4 Corvettes were produced in 1996.

Torch Red was the 2nd most popular color (behind Sebring Silver Metallic) - with 4,418 cars produced in 1996.

Sorry - no data on how many of the various options were sold...

You have one of the more desirable models of the C4 since it's an LT4, 1996 was the only year for the LT4 which was basically a beefed up version of the LT1.

GM didn't keep specific records of what cars were made with what options. You can find 1996 production numbers and costs of the various body styles, and available factory options here.

All LT4 cars had a 6-speed manual trans. Automatic trans cars got the LT1

They had them specifically for 1996 and were available on a web site for years. Now that site is gone and I can't find the data. I'd fathom a guess that the Grand Sport Registry owner has copies. It was specific down to exact options including engine and suspension.
