I built these about seven years ago because I didn't like the way jack stands fit on the corvette frame. I have used them on many different cars since then. I own three different sets of large jack stands but always go for these first because they give you so much more working room under the car. I use stands for suspension work only or for safety when swapping tires and wheels .

If a car is on a lift, shake it real good after lifting it off the floor a bit, if it is good go ahead and raise it up and go to work. If on jack stands, do the same. You will then be safe.
