I've had on/off starting issues with my '93 LT1. Will start, die out four or five times before finally starting. Then it runs great. Service ASR light comes on. I have a code 62 in history. Code 62 in the FSM deals with Tach Pulses Malfunction. Does anyone have experience with this situation? I'm a newbie with this.
this starting problem... is it first start of day or after car sits for several hours; or is it random? Does the service engine soon light come on or just ASR?
The starting problem is random. The car started like a champ this morning. I have the SES light at start up along with the red battery light (volts show 14.3 while driving). Both go away upon start-up. The ASR light is random. Not there at start-up. Comes on while driving.
Regarding the tach filter, I'm reading that a grounding issue may be involved?
I traced down the tach filter ground to the front of the engine. The bolt was somewhat snug, not tight. I removed the bolt and ground wire and cleaned it up. Two days now and no starting or dying out problems. Running great. Fingers crossed.

So... my Code 62 showed up again yesterday. Car had same start/die, start die. Then service ASR light came on again. The FSM says the there is likely an open between the I/P tach wiring and CKT 121 wiring at the "bulkhead connector C100 terminal "G1". I have no idea where to locate this bulkhead connector. Any ideas?
Thanks.

The 8A section of the FSM will tell you where everything is located. There will be images in the 8A-201 section that will direct you. C100 for your year should be about level with the battery top behind the battery and on the firewall/dash. C100 pin-out is also in the 8A of the FSM.
The panel that is commonly called "Firewall" ;the auto makers will call "bulkhead". Bulkhead connectors can refer to any connector that where a panel separates the male and female halves of a connector. A "pass thru" would be where wiring harness is encased in sealer with a flange (no connecter) where it passes thru an panel.
