Default C5 Master Cylinder to go along with my C5 brake upgrade?

Just sourced all the parts to do the C5 brake upgrade to my '89. Putting new rotors and rebuilt C4 calipers on the rear. Was planning on keeping the factory master cylinder and installing DRM bias spring, but just noticed pretty large leak in the front of the plastic booster going into MC. Not sure where the leak is. Is this leak something I should try to track down or should I use as an excuse to replace the booster / MC at the same time as working on the rest of the brake system. Question is, should I just replace with C4 MC, and if so, the original style plastic or the metal one? Of should I get a C5 MC? If install C5 MC, what are the advantages, if any, to doing so? Any problems/issues with install C5 MC on the C4?

Thanks in advance.

I think the more common change out is for the MC out of a 98-02 Camaro...perhaps some of those guys will chime in
