Default Differential Oil Capacity?

How much oil does the rear end hold? Factory manual, owners manual and dealer all have different numbers. Dealer told me 2-23 oz plus 4 oz of additive. Some of the catalogs sell you 3-23 oz bottles plus the additive. Thanks ahead of time for the help.

I've changed the lube twice on my Dana 44, used less than 2 pints after emptying a bottle of additive into the case first.

What do you have?If its a danna 36 it takes about 1&1/2 qts. Also use a synthetic like redlines 75w90,it includes the additive. :yesnod:

My 93 shop manual doesnt give a specific amount, it just says maintain fluid level flush with bottom of opening(filler plug hole)to no more than 1/4"below opening.

Even when using the Redline fluid, you should add the additive. Redline has their own bottle of additive too. I put Redline in the last time I changed mine and used their additive.

It depends on which Redline you are using. Their 75W90NS requires the additive if you use it with a limited-slip. Their 75W90 does not, since it is basically 75W90NS plus the additive, around 5% by volume. Which of course may not be the correct ratio we need, however...

I will look at what I have. I got it from LG Motorsports and they said I would need the additive with what they sold me.
