That seems to be most everyone's opinion. However, after my 383 build, which included a new MSD vented unit, I got the Code 36 after about 300 miles. I was also experiencing idle surge so I contacted TPiS Performance where I got my 58mm Throttle Body. They burned a chip for me and the Idle Surge went away and so far (500-600 miles) I haven't had the Death Code reappear. Your situation sounds different due to having an Opti that's probably been in service for a while, but I just wanted to point out that the Code 36 apparently can be set for reasons other than a failing unit.
Impossible. There is a problem with the opti sensor circuit
If you say so but where do you think all of that crap goes when it breaks loose. just replace my cap and rotor and cleaned everything up three years ago.
