Help with '85 Vette computer
Diacom doesn't show any spark advance. It always stays at 0.0. Is this normal?
The car seems to run pretty well, but will ping if I snap the trottle open at any RPM whether hot or cold. I can get it not to do this, but I have to retard the base timing to about 0 degrees initial - which of course kills overall power.
The car has done this ever since I bought it with 48,000 miles on it. I can't figure it out.
Any ideas? Any ideas what I should do?

That spark advance is "Normal" on the 85. Really pissed me off when I first got it and emailed 'customer service' multiple times never getting anything in response. Looks like they had problems linking with the 86 and then in later years, they got their act together.
