i recently had a friend install the accel/lpe intake/runners/plenum. it seemed a bolt dropped into the intake. my great friend decided to rev the bolt out. i now have blow by coming from the dip stick. i also changed the valve covers to newer ones which eliminated a pcv hose which we plugged into the plennum. im at the point where im ready to rip out the motor and put new heads/pistons and cam. can someone please advise me on the set up to go with to match my intake set up. ALL HELP AND ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
Re: NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP AND ADVICE FOR ENGINE (phantombluevette)
I'm just curious if you can explain "rev the bolt out" I've got an idea but I honestly can't believe anybody would try that.
In any case I would suggest going forged everything, Callies is makes one of the best cranks out there, of course they really like them. Oliver forged rods (made by callies) and SRP or JE pistons. Then the bottom end will take just about anything you want to throw at it.
Heads, talk to my guys at Total Engine Airflow http://www.totalengineairflow.com Basically get some CNC'd and ported AFR's with a very nice valve job on them.
Then get a super ram or mini ram on there with a cam of your choice. Cam choice and super/mini will all depend on what you really want to do with the car.

He tried to "rev the bolt out"?! If this is what it sounds like....well...I'm speechless!
Assuming that the engine ISN'T destroyed, the smoke from the dipstick could be a PCV issue. By "eliminated(ing) a pcv hose which we plugged into the plennum" I think you may have left a positive pressure building up in your crank case with no exit point other than your dip stick tube (and probably future oil leaks). Try running your PCV correctly and see if it goes away.
