PUSH WHAT? Does a "hammer" maybe force the components into submission?
OP - you need a compatible cluster, DIC, and CCM for sure and I believe also ECM. You can NOT mix/match components. In your "other" thread GC mentioned '92 and that I'm quite sure was the 1st year option.

The analog gauges are not working great as usual. I don't remember how to get the digital read out on the screen for temp etc., instead of miles.
I also notice a difference in buttons when I search. Mine says Range, not gauge.
Simple answer.. You can't. the Temp and other gauges reading were not avail until 1992.. Which is why we have a range button instead of a gauges button.
Ok since this seems to really mean allot to you I went and did some research.
From what I can tell you just might get away with what you want to do.
Here is a break down of the parts.
1991 instrument cluster 16142451
1993 instrument cluster 16158831 (this part shows to be usable from 1990-1993 even though the number isnt the same)
1994 instrument cluster 16168021 (this part shows to be used from 1994 to 1996)
1993 driver info center module 16157161
1994 dic 16168061
If you notice the cluster is the same from 90-93. The switches are the difference on the dic.
Odds say you can swap out the switches and get the function. If anything else needs to be messed with it would be the computer since the cluster is identical from 90 to 93.
