Default Blower motor control module helpful info

I just replaced the blower motor control module (thing that runs the heater/air conditioner fan on the c68 auto climate control cars).

What I wanted to pass along that will help others is I didn't use a module from a 86-89 for my 87 convertible. I bought one off a 1991 corvette. Works great.

Basically just make sure it shows part # 16061602 on the unit.

Everywhere I read people were saying you couldn't use newer modules because of changes. The only thing I ran into was one of the screws didn't line up that hold the module down (no biggy just didn't use that one and its still nice and tight mounting wise) and the plugs are backwards on top. Just twist the connectors around to plug it in. The newer module is mounted inside opposite of the old one is why the connectors are backwards on top. But the wires still plug in just fine.

Again worked great and I got it for $50 so was worth the try and it worked. So I figured this might help someone else out in the same boat.

The early modules also control the A/C compressor. In the later modules there are 3 wires in the larger connector and 1 wire in the small connector.

Well the 91 at least still has all the wires as in 4 in one connector and 2 in the other.
