Muffler inlet pipe angle?
I'm looking to swap out my mufflers to mate up with my new exhaust system.
Currently wanting to mate up a set of FM 40's with a 3in inlet...
I seem to be having a hard time figuring out the inlet pipe angle for the muffler system.

I'm attempting to order a pair of mandrel bent tubes to weld up.
any help would be appreciated

You could probably make a 45 or 90 work. I think either one would have to be cut and joined on an angle though. When I need bends I just go down to my local muffler shop, show them what I need and they sell me the tubing plus a charge for bending it.

I might end up just buying a bend and cutting it, I might even get two pieces out of a single U bend...
Hard part I have around here is no muffler shops deal with mandrel bends.
if all else fails I'll go the muffler shop route.

That sounds like what i was thinking, i tried to get an angle off of the original mufflers, but i had a hard time getting the angle right.
I my cheap little angle finder seemed to think it was a 45 degree bend, but that turned out to be way off.
What I'm thinking is i'll end up with an end that resembles a dirtbike expansion chamber...
I'm thinking an 80degree bend might get me closer...
But that's beyond my welding skills right now.
I think I'll try an 80 degree piece
