Hey fellow members, have a bit of a problem here. My 88 35th anniversary corvette shows 99 liters per 100 km but once I get rolling it goes back down to the 8 liters per 100 km. Problem is when I shut it off or just fire it up you can smell very rich gas any thoughts?
Thanks guess I will have to get a scan done and see if anything comes up, car still runs like a champ and no engine lights. Guess that's the problem when you put less then a 1000 on a year only have 29ooo on the beast right now.
If no fuel in the FPR vacuum line I would bet on sticky injector. Call Jon at FIC. I was just up there with the wife last year. Falls are still great but most everything else went to he!!. Really they can take your car, license and a $10,000 fine if you goose your C4? Water $3 for a small bottle in the vending machine by the falls? Parking at the Four Season hotel was almost as much as the room? Glade I found the $5 trick for the casino. And don't even think about buying gas.................
Yah they do like to rip off the tourist when they come to town. The company I work for sells the 24 pack of water to the majority of tourist traps down by the falls for 3.99 a case so after one bottle the rest is total profit. And yah the cops do not like us guys with toys they all want us to drive at or under the speed limit it is hard some days not to push the limits and hope they are not around. Pulled the vacuum line off yesterday actually after a not so slow run and all was dry. Injectors were changed a few years ago but there is a possibility that one or more may have got gummed up from not using it enough.

Funny you say that as I was just thinking the same thing. Going to pick up a bottle or two when Walmart opens and try it today as it is going to be a warm one again so will be out enjoying it while I can. I am hoping that's all it is as the fuel has been in it since I parked it in October still have 3/4 of a tank, lol

Put a stick on the injectors and listen to hear if they are clicking good. If some are not take said stick and tap on them.

My car shows 0 (zero) miles per gallon when it's sitting still, and goes up to the normal number range when I start driving. So your fuel economy numbers of 99L/100km when sitting and 8L/100km when rolling, those are pretty normal in my estimation.
Good luck with the fuel smell, glad you are getting helpful responses.
