85 corvette - there is a low pressure cycling switch coming off the evaporator. the factory parts manual calls out a .301 x .070 (5/16" x 1/16" (7.65 x 1.78)) o-ring. I replaced with this callout, and it leaks like a sieve. I have one of those mastercool o-ring sets, and there is not a size that matches the original o-ring. I did use a 8.8 x 1.9 (.3465 x .075) - it's the closest, but not a perfect match. pulling a vacuum as we speak - not sure if it will hold the vacuum. anyone know the correct size? TIA....
update: pulled a vacuum for about 30 minutes (28"), and it SEEMS to be holding? follow up questions - how long should I pull a vacuum, and how long should it hold before I can say it's leak free?
If you're referencing a GM# 3041596 cycling switch for an '85 then it's a .351 X .072 GM# 52450548 I believe. If you're confident of the switch post the part # you believe the switch to be.

I'm thinking the switch number is 10007057 - could be wrong though. there is nothing in this 270 piece o-ring kit that's close to .351
x .072. my .3465 x .075 seems to be working and holding vacuum.
thanks for the reply - BTW, you're not in any of that WV flood area, are you? hope you're high and dry....

I'm quite dry -
Search eBay for this evap (3057733 GM) and the switch (3041596 GM) there's a very good snapshot by JnJ and several of the switch. The mounting port for the switch is shown well in the JnJ image.
