Does anyone heve advice for a scanner that will work on my 1994 and also newer OBDII vehicles? Is there one that is easier to use than others? I'm not havinb problems, but I want to get familiar with how to use a scanner now, since my vehicle is fairly heavily modded, LE2 build, with all the trimmings, and I know it's just a matter of time and better to learn how to diagnose it at my leisure. Thanks

Your LE2 build is a what? It's modified how and what chassis is it in?
Lloyd elliot stage 2 . Heads ported 205cc intake port, Patriot extreme valve springs 155 seat, 400 lb. open, Manley 2.00/1.56 valves, Lunati 227/235 @.050 .565/.579 110 LSA
cam, Lunati self-adjusting full roller rockers, Lunati lifters and hardened Lunati pushrods, CAT, AIR and EGR delete, TPIS LLong tube w true duals, Bosch3 32 lb injectors, Edge 3000 stall speed lock up street/strip TC, B&M transmission cooler, PCM 4 less tune. Other stuff, too much to remember. Chassis stock for now. Runs great. Only 20 miles on build. 49k total on vehicle. I just want to begin learning to diagnose and fine tune PCM parameters. Gary
When you mentioned "NEWER OBD2" I kinda thought you had an LE2 "modified" in something and that was the newer!
You've got Lloyd Elliot heads on an LT1 with additional - LOL
It seems that after your second post you're maybe wanting something more than just a "scanner". Scanners are generally for diagnostics of various aspects of any particular vehicle that is capable of being diagnosed using software. Engine PCM, TCM, BCM etc .....
Scanner wise it depends on how much you want to spend. GM tech 2 is wery good but not cheap and there are a lot of" knock offs" out there. Snap on MT2500 the "Red Brick" can be found reasonably priced used. Ideally you want one with cartridges and manuals for vehicles/fuel systems you plan on working on. If you don't you have to search for them. There is also software available to turn phones, tablets, and computers in to scanners. Generally Manufacture specific scanners will allow more access and functions than generic scanner
