Default Throttle Body Bushings

Just did a smoke test on my 96, chasing A HVAC problem, and the ERG solenoid is leaking a bit, so am going to replace it, and a little "wisp" under the dash, so not sure about that. Lot of smoke blowing out around the Throttle Body shaft, so debating on whether to replace it with new, rebush it myself, or send it away for a rebuild.

Searching the FORUM, and appears that a lot of the aftermarket ones have idle issues, and some other problems, as well as needing to reprogram the PCM if you go larger than stock. My 96 is "bone stock".

Whatcha think? I can get a rebush kit for about $40, or $180 to send away and rebuild, or an aftermarket from Jegs is about $250. I think stock on my 96 is 48MM

I don't know about idle issues but if they do come up, I would think you can adjust the IAC to be within the 20-30 counts and be done with it? I'd get an aftermarket one that is stock size and be done with it.

ok, thanks. Do you know if I would have to have my PCM reprogrammed if I went to a 52MM? The 52MM seems to be what is widely available for my LT1. Mine is 48MM but the intake holes are just shy of 52MM

I would doubt it. I don't think you have to for an L98 if memory serves me since we did that on a friend's car eons ago.
