New Fuel Sending Unit not working.. Help
Hi, I bought a new fuel sending unit for my 84 Corvette... installed it and nothing gas gage says empty... Pulled it back out and checked it that way... You unplug it with key on it works and you reinstalled it works at 1/2 tank 1/4 etc ... plug it in nothing goes back to empty.. any idea's .. that make me think the old one is really good .. thanks for your time

You unplug what to change gauge reading? then you plug what in to make it read empty? The sending unit is a variable resister were when float is all the up or towards mounting plate it should have 90 ohms resistance. When float is all the way down toward fuel pick screen it should have 0 ohms resistance. 0 ohms could be called "shorted" because there no resistance.
