Some time ago, I submitted post, regarding my 1989 Corvette no charge to battery from alternator. I really attempted many if not all the feedback. And I was still left with no charging alternator(s). Out of frustration I have walked away and came back to the car over the last few months. Fast forward to now.
I call it a virus because my components are shutting down one by one. Up until recently the car would start and run with no loss of power with exception the battery would not charge. Now the horns will not blow, there are three fuses in the fuse block (passenger side door) that have no power engine on or off, now there is no fuel pumping thru the rail to feed the injectors.
Now I have the FSM but where do I start. Right now it seems to be pointing towards the theft deterrent controller / module, but how do you test it without replacing it
Ps. I replaced three alternators and two batteries, followed the diag of the horns via the fsm and they work along with the horn relay
Start by testing your fusible links. Behind the battery, the FSM will help greatly. The "not charging" symptom is a dead giveaway to an open link (or more). Good hunting

Have you chased the grounds? One of the Achilles Heels of corvettes is ground problems.

I am also trying to stay away from replacing components. It seems each time that I replaced on I had the same problem with the new on.
One additional thing that was weird was, went I would start my vet with the professional grade battery charger, with the dead battery, the car would for a good period 20 - 30 minutes over the road and trickle down very slowly, as if were running off the alternator. (I know we r not to do this) But while the car was running I would remove the cable from the battery and the car will shut off.
