My car has developed a very annoying habit that only happens once in a while. Sometimes after driving for a while, the car will all of sudden start to shake from every little bump in the road causing the steering wheel and column to shake. Someone posted something similar to this a few weeks ago and claimed that if you were to aggressively move the wheel back and forth that it would reset the suspension. This does seem to work, however only for a few minutes. Any suggestions and yes the tires are balanced. Thanks!!!
Re: Vibrating steering wheel when hitting bumps!! (rilesforgolf)
this sometimes happens to mine too....really drives me nuts.....its like...is it shaking over the bumps or not? sometimes yes....sometimes no....for me....I honestly think ....its just the car.....the suspension on these things is really stiff.....and the actual car flex is incredible.....try bolting your top down....while not perfectly straight.....you will find the flex is so much...that the bolt holes no longer line up!.....so all in all...if your positive that the following things are ok...then my guess is...that there is nothing wrong with your car at all...its just the c4 suspension reacting differentl to certain bumps....sometimes the small bumps make the car bounce more then the big ones...lol....
also...many have reported that the CAMBERBRACE AND CROSSBAR....are the 2 most best of things you can do to improve the way a c4 handles....this almost eliminates body flex....and really pulls the whole car together...you can check the posts....the guy is always running some kind of deal.
