Just wondering if a C4 has some minor frontend frame damage how repairable it is. Is thier a way to pull the frame back to its origional place. Once again if it is very minor could a shop repair it to the origional driving charicteristics?
Most competent body shops can repair minor frame damage, no sweat. How much is damaged? If it is bent really bad, remember, the front of the frame can be replaced. There are a lot of C4s in Corvette junkyards now; I know of a place in Paoli, Ind. for one that has many Corvette frames. Hope this helps. Joe :chevy
Thanks to my little brother and his nutty driving, after I sold the car to him he managed to bend the driver's side frame rail down at least an inch. The bend started just in front of the shock tower.
The frame shop said there was quite alot of bend and lateral twist. The guy I took it too did an excellent job. I couldn't even hardly tell anything ever happened after he bent it back.
He said it was VERY fixable. He charged me about $700 bucks. It was done right the first time. I also had him spotweld the new front crossmember on. he used all his equipment to measure where it was supposed to go. Again - perfect job.
So yes, C4 frames can be fixed. A Nissan Pathfinder did this number.
