Default High Idle once warm

1995 6 sp. Cleaned throttle body off car. Replaced gaskets only. Put it back together. Idle was high. Bout 1200. Pushed down on throttle linkage and the idle went perfect. Took it out for a drive and it idled up to almost 2000 and would not come down tapping pedal. Pulled over, pushed on linkage. Fixed. Drived some more, rpm back and stuck at 2000. As soon as car starts to warm up it begins. Any ideas?

..... Lube the throttle shaft in the throttle body with a quality spray silicone or Teflon based lubricant .....

I tried this option tonight. No fix. Its almost like the linkage is slipping. The linkage touching the top stop screw doesn't move when I push on it. Only the piece that the throttle cable is attached to pushes down a little resulting in correct idle. Like that little screw is loose. Working it manually, no sticking. Put it in gear and the rpms climb. Thanks for your response

The throttle plate bushings are known to wear out and cause a hanging idle condition. I think that's what you have because you said physically pushing the throttle back will bring the idle back down.
I've never replaced these bushings myself but it may be in my near future and I know replacement bushings are available.

Mine is doing the same thing but I have a brand new TPIS monoblade... I haven’t physically pushed down on the Tb to see if it drops also but I will

Get a scanner and you can adjust the min air rate better than the FMS method which assumes 100% stock and 100% compliant with stock standards which you are not. You may have an air leak which can show up on the scan. Also you will need a scanner sooner or later so why not now?
