Default Power booster problem

)I have a new brake booster less than 1000 miles into it and today I have to press really hard to stop! I checked the vacuum at 15 -17 in*hg, which I'm not sure if this is normal. And found the vacuum lines up front by the TB, EGR solenoid and to the evap canister at 4 in*hg. While checking the booster the piece where the vacuum line connects to came off with only minimal force, so I'm not sure if this is the problem. Pls help since my other car is a POS and runs like cr@p and my Vette is the only car that works (sort of  )

I think I found the problem, the check valve where the vacuum line attaches to has three nipples where one is hissing...I find out tomorrow when I replace it.

I think you're right.........when you pull the hose off the booster it should come out HARD!!!! if not then there's no vacuum in the booster so that's why the hard pedal.......those check valves are cheap and are usually the first thing to look at :seeya
