Default Could this be a Temp. sending unit?

LT1 engine.A/C works nine,car runs great.When I paper clip a & b ports both fans come on.Car never over heats,hardly ever over 200.
After car sits over nite engine cold. When I drive with AC off when engine reaches 180-195 AC cooling fan comes on and service engine lite comes on.
After car sits over nite engine cold. When I drive with AC on,blowing ice cold.AC cooling fan on from the get go.As soon as temp shows anywhere from 180-195 service engine lite comes on.
Does this sound like a bad Temp. sending unit causing the service engine lite to come on?

Sounds like you need a scanner to see why the CEL came on.

Need to pull those codes. Fans shouldn't cause a CEL.

Just a shot in the dark, but seems your fans are coming on at too low of a temperature. Do you have a custom tune on the ECM that could be causing your issues? What year is it?

Strange, as on my '92 the fans don't turn on until after 220 and the first time it happened I thought something was wrong with the car coming from a C3.

When we say it comes on at a given temperature that is too low or high, I like to see what the temperature is as reported by the sensor and scan the sensor with an infrared thermometer.
