it was pretty slow the past few years. I know my car has been sitting for about 3 years with maybe a few glimpse of hope (test drives) mixed in. It's too bad there isn't more interest. It's a good platform to make a fast sleeper.
Whether people like to hear it or not... Basically the way the site was run ran it in to the ground for real car guys or should I say the tech people. They all left years ago or just lurk at best. They all are on other sites or have moved on to newer cars and there are less people going so deep in to the c4's now.
I haven't been able to log in to CF for a long time. What happened to the Section titled C4 FI/N2O?
Old school guy here who actively participated on here until about 5 yrs ago. Heavily modded C4 still in the garage in Texas.
I would like to get her back up and running soon. Concerned about what all I will be facing when I return to get her running again.
'87 Vert, 408cid, F1R, ZF, FAST programmed. It used to run quite well!
There seems to be fewer and fewer of the old FI group on this site. I know for me, I'm driving my other car (not a vette) to car meets, etc. I was recently in your neck of the woods (Houston, correct?) on the power tour.

Or...as noted regarding "the way the site was run":
Having the SAME type of posts put up over and over made this site too disorganized and repetitive. Some car forums keep things VERY organized -- with merged topics starting at the get-go. It IS much more interesting to see topics evolve over the years versus here....
Where reiterating the same posts over and over lend themselves more to the rotating community versus the seasoned owner. Assuming that's what you mean, I guess it's not necessarily a dig as much as a style of running things for a specific goal.
Or...maybe just happen-stance out of the lack of better organization.
To the point of merging forums: Does it really create more "community" to bring the more specialized topics i.e., "Scan/Tune" and "FI" into this forum? I would be surprised if many new/additional members delve into those topics as a result of a merge. For those really interested in those topics, finding historical posts becomes a bit more challenging.
I would vote against the merging of topics....except it's probably too late.

I have a home in the Woodlands (just North of Houston), but am currently located in the desert (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). I'm hoping to come home soon....

I fully agree! I frequented the C4FI area, as I seemed to be able to quickly reply to topics that were of my interest.
I guess I will just offer assistance in the C4 Tech area with the occasional question on blowers / turbos / N2O.

We noticed there was very little activity in the C4 forced induction and the scan and tune sub-sections. Between the two of them they were getting about one post per week. When that happens, sections begin to look static and people stop checking them for new content.
We posted an announcement in the C4 section, saying we were considering merging F/I and S&T into C4 Tech, where there continued to be a good deal of activity. We asked for feedback on that proposed move and all the feedback we got was supportive, agreeing the merger was logical. So, three months ago, we collected all of the content that had ever been posted in F/I and S&T and merged it into Tech/Performance.
It's not lost and scattered and doesn't require a hopeless search that won't find anything. All of the content is still there. If you need to find an old thread on F/I or S&T, you don't have to go through every thread posted in the section to locate what you need. Just use the advanced search function in the pull-down menu above.
Here are some results I got when I searched a few minutes ago for threads referencing forced induction:
