hey everyone - I am not sure if these things are related but I am hoping the great minds here can help
drivers side motor/gears are spinning - the light works and comes on but the light will not raise all of the way consistently or at all. I bought the repair kit so I will be trying that adventure soon.
to the point - the motor of the disabled headlight continues to growl after the lights are off - I have unplugged the connector to stop it. but my question(s) are shouldn't that shut off with the light switch anyhow? or is there a stop inside the motor that shuts it off? I do not mind it being out of whack for the moment - but my battery keeps dying after a day or 2 and I am wondering if that is the culprit since one of the pins in the connector shows battery power
admittingly I am not very good with electronic diagrams - or chasing gremlins of this sort -
Year matters and if this was/is your '85 AND the lift motors haven't been replaced with the later lift motors there are no pucks/bushings as mentioned to replace.
You mention buying a package/kit - what did you buy?
ok - so no plastic bushings/pucks? large gear was ground down pretty well - 2 new plastic/nylon gears greased and on - headlights work sync pretty well - no more winking eye!! and no more grinding motor sound -
