I was all set to try to un bubba my cooling fan, but I can barely get my hands on the connector or the wire. The connector is shot black full of grease maybe burned or melted even.
At the connector the wire is brown, at the relay its green with a black tracer. It changes at c100. Now where is c100? I was thinking I could snake a new wire through the loom, but it wont be that easy I guess.
Will I be able to get to c100 easily? Wishful thinking I guess.

As I'm studying the wiring diagram in my '84 FSM, I find a mystery. C100 is the large thru-firewall connector just to the left (drivers side) of the brake booster, and is shown in your FSM on pg. 8A-15. To clarify your question, the connector you're mentioning is for the CTS (coolant temp sw.) on the right head, between cyl. 6 & 8. Correct? (Note to others: We're talking '84 here.)
My mystery is because the brown wire (ckt 335) from the CTS goes to C100, then thru the firewall, then jumps back to C100, thru the firewall again to the grn/blk wire to the relay!!! Weird!!! So there's no physical connection of the brn wire to the grn/blk wire! Could that be where you have your problem? There is no reason why you couldn't put a soldered connection between those two wires at C100!
I suspect C100 has two parts, and this jumper thing allows for ease of assembly.
Im just trying to figure out how to replace the connector for the switch in the passenger head. It wont be easy trying to cut and strip wire and splice it too down in that area that its in. And of course I would prefer if it didnt have to be hacked at all.
I followed the opposite end of the wire from the switch connector back to a few inches lower than where the switch is located. Its coming from some kind of metal post like a standoff, that has a flat side or two on it it feels like.

Maybe its easier to do from underneath?
This statement confuses me. Where is this "opposite end of the wire"? Where is this "metal post"? Definitely shouldn't be easier "underneath". Can you provide a picture of your problem?
