sounds a lot like the issue I had, I keep saying this in a few threads, but a good jumper cable to test grounds...
My theory is that the new pump has a higher current draw and puts more stress on the related components.
For me I needed to take the jumper cable and connect it to the fill neck (with fuel cap off), and then the other end directly to the ground on the battery, and the car fired right up.
for my new ground I just connected it directly to one of the fuel pump mounting bolts since the pump grounds out to the pickup assy.
that being all said looking at that fuel pump relay wiring.... very possible you have other issues that will require a good wiring diagram, a good meter, and some time...

So yesterday got home after charging the battery all day and it fired up. Took it our around the block and it ran good. Let it sit until around 11. Went out to start it and no go. I unplugged the battery, cleaned everything off and it started right up. Let it sit overnight and it started again this morning. That's the first time I had ever touched that battery.
