Default Help: Windshield Wiper Blades

Hi all.

Seems simple enough. I need to replace the wiper blades on my 1985 vette. Have seen both 19" and 20" used
I have looked at reviews of the Trico force, and the Bocsh Icon.
I am looking for a good blade. Will not be used in snow. (I Hope)
what is everyone using? Any suggestions on these or maybe someone elses.

Thanks

Dave

There's likely 50+ threads regarding wipers - your mentioned choices are poor ones.

From this link search 8-2202 and you'll be presented with most threads and some alternate part #'s. if that link doesn't "stick" just use the search from the C4 community home page above threads/posts or just the SEARCH in the CF tool bar. You should have no problems finding the 2 generally suspected "no issue" possibilities. All others are to be considered "hit/miss" - buy local in case you attempt fails.

I use 18" Rain X on both sides, does away with most of the flutter, and does not interfere with your vision.

the main issue with most aftermarket blades is the hood clearance. I've tried several types for my 85 and 90, all with clearance issues. the ac delco 8-2202 (GM 89001009) are 20" OE replacements blades with a perfect fit. they are fairly low tech, original equipment types, but if your like me, you're not driving too much in the rain anyway, so no need for high tech, aerodynamic, fancy-schamcy blades. they're cheap enough you can replace them every couple years without breaking the bank. best pricing - rockauto -

Got mine via Rockauto. Turned out to be Napa's. original length, exact same mount as the orginals and fit like the originals. Tried a couple of others before this, either they didn't stay on or had clearance issues.

Trico Exact Fit 19-2. Makes no annoying noises when used. The ones you have to bend backwards to open up the mounting hole to slide over the C4's wiper arm stud. That hole has been getting smaller over the years and requires some lubrication to attach to the wiper stud.
