I have the Digital6 Plus box for my nitrous retard, but never upgraded the coil. Would there be any benefit to having the MSD coil? It looks easy enough to replace.
I've got the MSD GM Blaster coil. You're right, it's pretty easy to replace. I actually had the coil long before I got the digital 6 box. Plain and simple it throws a more powerful spark. Coupled with the digital 6 it's outright amazing. It should ignite just about anything you throw at it.
Is it required? Probably not, but it's good to complete the system. My entire ignition system is MSD and it works great.
probably a good idea,
I ran a stock coil with my MSD6AL until the coil blew a chunk out of itself. replaced it with a MSD unit and have not had a problem since.

Thanks! Got it!! $39 delivered to my door same day!!(friend right around the corner works at a speed shop!) They had it in stock. Installation planned for tomorrow AM. :D
Ok. All done. It was a painless installation! For those thinking about this upgrade, here's a tip. The bottom bolt on the power steering fluid tank needs only to be loosened to move the bracket far enough out of the way. It seems it would be a biatch to put back in if completely removed.

Since you have the MSD Box, I doubt your running stock wires. Just in case, upgrade if you go to the blaster coil. It fried my stock wires and now I have MSD 8.5mm wires as well.

If you can find someone that's done it before to help you, maybe a few hours. If not, then plan all day and hope it doesn't take that long. Passengers side isn't that hard once you've done it a few times. Drivers side is a PITA.

Thanks! Not looking forward to it, but will do it this week!
