I installed muffler delete pipes on my 94, it sounds OK but the drone sucks, so I want to install a MagnaFlow 12468 performance muffler with a tru-X core in place of the resinator which should get rid of the drone. My question is 2.5" or 3" pipes ? not sure which to order.
If I where you I would use the 2.5 but i don't think that muffler will get rid of drone, I have it with two individual glasspacks right behind it and still have drone. I would go with a chambered muffler to lose drone.

I just got new exhaust for my 88' because it had terrible drone due to having hooker muffler put on by the PO. I used dual 2.5 pipes my exhaust shop bent to fit with an X-pipe (from summit) and stock mufflers. It still has a nice rumble at idle and sounds good when you get on it, But is very quiet at highway cruising speeds. I'm very happy with the sound.
Just a note, I got the stock replacement mufflers (for a 91') from Corvette Central and my exhaust guy said he a little bit of trouble because the pipes that were attached to the muffler were not bent correctly, but after he re-bent the piping a bit it all worked out.

SO you are using that exact muffler with the Tru-X pipe built in and you still have drone ? Well that sucks I guess I will be trying something else then.
The mufflers were sold by Corvette Central and were stock replacement ones for a 1991 Corvette (dual outlets). they were $198 I think, and the X-pipe from summit racing was $34.
They sound great with dual 2.5in and an x-pipe.
Just be aware as I said earlier that the pipes that come attached to the mufflers will have to be massaged a little bit in order to work as they are not bent correctly.
