I've notice a rattling noise on my 1994 Corvette which appears to be coming from the passenger side front dashboard. The sound is heard during crusing and increase to some degree while passing over a bump in the road. I never noticed the dashboard noise before because the stereo was always cranked up. Is there a component in the passenger front dash that needs to be tighten to prevent such noise with the exception of the airbag. I always heard that earlier corvettes were known to have interior compartment noise problems [rattles]. I'd like to fix the problem rather than revert to drowning the sound out with the stereo cranked up. Any recommendation to a possible cause and fix would be appreciated.

I've got the same problem and it drives me nuts. :mad
Mine's coming from the vents. If I close the right hand vent in front of the passenger it gets better, but it's still there. I can't figure out what to tighten or how to do it.
I also get rattles/vibrations from the door locks, anyone else have this problem?
In the center of the pass vents is a small grille with horizontal openings. You can gently pry it out from the bottom & then, I think, there are a couple of 7mm screws holding the vents outlets. If there is anything going on you shud be able to get to it. I guess your 92's are the same as 95. :)
That pass side vent cover is probably it - over time every 94-96 I've seen shrinks/warps and will not fit right. Mine fit better after I loosened it and re-set it with a thin bead of black RTV. Check yours to see if one corner has popped up - that makes it creak and chirp like crazy.
