Default L98 Cat pipe

Following on from my other post.
How do I remove the main cat from under the car?
I've seperated it from front y piece but it's held under car by a small tube. Which I can see no way of disconnecting. Except following it to the bay and disconnecting it from what I believe is called the iac??
Please correct me if I'm wrong

It runs to the air injection system for smog aka the smog pump. Should be a simple clamp as no heat at that end.

yes I can disconnect it from pump. But then I have to feed t down through engine bay.
Is that what your suggesting?

Whatever direction seems the simplest will present itself pretty qickly. I have never had mine out though suspect the car needs to go up on jack stands maybe 16 to 18 inches to have enough room.

I replaced my main cat and the front Y pipe on my L98 daily driver. Had the same issue you are having. I ended up cutting the small EGR pipe, then when putting the new cat on the car, I used a small section of high-temp silicone hose and a couple hose clamps. Worked fine - have not had any problems, and no issues with the annual state safety inspection I have to go thru either.
