Default Fuse aux fan switch?

I just wired a manual fan switch in and thought it might be a good idea to put in a fuse. I wired it direct to a battey lead. Thanks :flag

If you wired it to your fan relay input you don't need a fuse; if not, then rewire it now.

You realy don't want the sw carring primary power.

I couldn't make connections at the relay no room so I figured to make them in the wire loom. I you could explain how you did it I would appreciate it.

I believe your fan relay, like mine, is on the inner rear of the left fender well.

From Radio Shack get an insulation displacement connector and a spade lug to fit it. Clip the connector onto the grn/wht wire going to the input of the fan realy. Clip the spade lug onto your new wire and run the wire to the manual fan sw. Run another wire from the sw to a ground point under the dash (assuming the sw is under dash).

When you close the manual fan sw it will ground the grn/wht wire at the input of the fan relay. This allows current to flow through the realy; this energizes the relay and turns on the fan, whenever the ignition key in on.

If you want the fan on when the ignition is off, buy a relay & fuse and wire it in similar fashion with the power lead to the relay fused and from an unswitched source.

I think i got it, question, that connector look like a small rec block and have two blade connections on it. And wired as you explained will the fan act normal as it did with the manual swtc off? Thanks for the help

That sounds like the connector.

Yes, with the sw off (open) the ECM will controll the fan as always.
