Default engine harness conversion

Hello all. Pulled my engine wiring harness out because it had way too many crappy splices and in general was a POS. Bought a used one from a 85 with automatic. Mine is 4 plus 3 manual and has two more wires going to transmission area. I posted this earlier and I understand I can wire the over drive to a different source. Here is my question. Does anyone have experience converting this harness? I understand that I would have to add two wires. The color coding is different. I might have a line on the correct one but not too confident. any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also like most people on a budget. In other words if I have to spend 400 bucks I will put in a toggle switch.

Not sure what wires you are talking about. Back up lights? The Red wire to the overdrive? exactly what year do you have?

I'm certain you can get it to work, but you need to give more info.

Sorry about that. Both cars are 1985. I will check the wiring diagram for wire colors. Thanks for the help.

I believe that the actual engine harness that plugs into the C100 bulkhead connector is the same on all '85 cars. It is an '85 only harness. There might be a tag very close to the C100 connector on both with maybe a portion of the part# or a letter tag wrapped around it. I would expect a tag of 9301.

Do you know where the C100 is and do you have a FSM?

The ECM harness changed for AT and MT cars NOT the actual engine harness.

I dont have a FSM. I do not know where the C100 connector. I will look at it more tonight. I wouldnt be surprised if the harnesses in my car are the wrong ones. Thanks for the help.
