I know I have read something on this in the past, but I can't remember where. Can anyone tell me if LT1 shorty headers can fit on a L98. (and if they are worth it?)
Shorties wont gain too much probably 5 maybe up to 10 rwhp. They are definitely better than the stock manifolds and do allow you to retain your factory cats and stock or aftermarket catback without modification. They also are smog legal and very easy to install. So I would not say they are worthless......
If these things are important to you and you get them at a good price they would be worth looking into. Otherwise , long tubes are really the best performance way to go.
Hope that helps, oh and I think that most L98 and LT-1 headers both short and long tube will work interchangably though on the L98's there are different EGR connections if I am not mistaken. For instance I know that Hooker longtubes for L98 also fit the LT-1.

No offense but IMO they are pretty much worthless. I bought mine used for $200 and still regret spending the cash. As for easy install, for the most part it was but still not worth the time.
I just went to the track with mine, I can assure you there are 0 gains to be had with shorty headers on a bascially stock LT1.
I know people who have run in the mid to low 11's on the stock manifolds, I think the stock pieces are good.
I wish still had my stock manifolds on the car and $200 in my pocket.
