on my first rebuilt, I put a considerable about of research into this exact subject, because both of my C4's were leaking like seives Nothing bothers me more than a beautiful piece of machinery that leaks and ruins the floor.
this is my third plug for Hylomar now. its amazing. its expensive. but as the op KNOWS now hes doing this for the third time...the tube is 40$ and is worth evey penny!! ill shut up about hyomar now ...permatex had a brief stint where they rebranded/distributed the hylomar under their own name, it worked exactly the same, and the reviews for it are excellent. The problem is they didn't like the price of it, I don't think people were willing to pay that amount of money on a mass scale, so they dumped the original Hylomar and tried to make their own version. unfortunately the reviews for permit Texas own version are horrible compared to the original hylomar.
its an aircraft engine sealant. take 20 min and watch a few videos. amazing stuff.
