Changing antenna with new one
So I don"t have original radio and my antenna is broke.
I want to replace antenna and my radio does not have power antenna button. If i remove back panel can I just run a non electrical antenna in there. I realize the tire is to be removed and entry into wheel well is a must? I did see the connection in back where I removed panel deck where the two coax wires are connected.
So summarizing I need a new non electric antenna installed.
And is the female connection(coax) coming from antenna or radio??
Well that's as clear as mud
Thanks Sunny6

OP - Antenna is "BROKE" or just doesn't function? "BROKE" hints - physical issues but if just doesn't function there's options that I'd think more preferred than a manual mast - year certainly does matter.
You installed this radio or it was there when you purchased the car? Did the power antenna ever work since you purchased the car?
YEAR CERTAINLY DOES MATTER

I'd bet money that your Kenwood has an output for the control of your antenna. Do you have the manual for it? Are there any unused wires coming out the back of the unit? It's a simple 12 v. output when the stereo is on.
