Default 1995 water pump stuck

Worked on my New to me 1995 LT1 till 3am. Got all the liquid out all the hoses off and all 6 bolts out. Now my problem is the water pump won't give at all. Don't want too break anything but my brain is stuck on this stuck pump. Any one have any ideas. Hope to get it apart before the new pump gets here miss driving my Vet already. Thanks

Been a few of them like this lately on guy broke his shaft do NOT want to do this. Just soak it good with PB blaster tap back and forth and repeat.and take as much time as needed. Take the three bolts out of the balancer too and soak and tap that too. Hit it from the underside and not on the outside. Pull both knock sensors to get all the crap flushed out this is a must. I put in new knocks.

Why would you need to unbolt the balancer? It does not interfere with the WP removal.

To the OP: Try to tap a thin putty knife in between where the WP mates to the block. It may be that the gasket material has 'glued' the pump to the block. When I did mine, it took some doing to get all the gasket material off.

Just me if I am in that far I will replace the opti seal as well as the water pump seal.

Thats a good idea but right now i am just wanting to get to drive it some more till the newness wears off. Thinking next fall or early spring i might do some of that extra stuff really get into it and replace the 21 year old rubber around it. althou it only has 37000 miles so not used lots but spent some time sitting.

If its not leaking oil leave it alone, alot more work to remove optispark and just do seal unless opti needs replacement, flush system, new knocks, put on new pump use sealer on bolts, fill new coolant, bleed air and enjoy.

I do not agree with this it has been sitting a long time. If it wasn't I would not do it. He has a good original opti that can be ruined in minutes that cannot be replaced.

i hope the opti is fine. How easy is it to mess them up?

Very easy just need to get them wet or oily that is why I would repace the water and opti seal. They get old and hard and crack when sitting.
