Best Ride Quality C4 Shocks
Recently purchased a '95 Corvette coupe. Previous owner replaced stock suspension parts including front and rear springs, installed QA1 shocks on all four corners, Killebrew bars, tubular control arms, etc. Car handles like it's on rails. But the ride quality leaves something to be desired.
Looking for the best ride quality non adjustable shocks for the money. Looking at Bilsteins, KYB, etc. Suggestions? Thanks guys.

Bob did you try running them down to 2-3 clicks? That's all I run mine at on the street. I have two new rear kybs off the Z you can have if you decide on those.

Former Vendor
Ridetech offers a great set of monotube shocks for C4s that come with a 1,000,001 mile warranty (You never have to buy shocks again). They are designed by Ridetech and built by Fox Racing. I have been running their single adjustables on my C5 for 3 years (street driving, autocross, and road course) and they have been wonderful.

Put B6 Bilsteins on the front of mine a couple of weeks ago and the ride is good, almost too good. Thought they would be a bit firmer. In retrospect I wish I had gone with the B8.

Cruising
Just put KYB on all 4 corners this past weekend. They give a much more comfortable ride than the Bilstein's that were on there without any loss of handling. I would definitely buy them again.

I love the Bilstein quality, that they stood behind their shocks; the control and RIDE of my redone stockers now to Corvette Challenge specs. The rebound AND the impact made my Z51's ride palatable for the first time, even WITH the Z51 spring, unlike that of a 'softer' one I tried.

10 years ago, I replaced the junk with Bilstein. This year the right front leaked. Sent both fronts back for "inspection". 2 hours after Fedex said they got them, they shipped me 2 brand new ones for my FX3 car. I doubt they actually tested them like they told me they would over the phone. My hunch is they matched the model and sent 2 new ones without testing. Unless you believe they can receive the shipment out of a hundred other items, take it to the test bench and really give it a good work out. All my other cars have Bilstein aftermarket for the lifetime warranty. They never hassled me on it even when one of them leaked because the diesel engine was blowing CCV smoke on it. I think they just match it up and replace.

Crank down on the QA's. Or have QA revalve.
Drop the TP to 30psi.
Get a pillow.
Putting shitty shocks on that suspension package is blasphemy.

I agree with the others. Before you change the shocks change the setting on the QA1s. It will only cost you some time.
