Default Anyone using Samco hoses?

I'm about to finish my opti install(then start LTCC install), but I was thinking. Should probably buy new cooling hoses. I like the Samco cause it lasts longer. I assume the factory clamps on my 93 won't work on them? Does the Samco come with all the hoses that connect to the water pump?

The hoses on my '91 are 25 years old and not soft or swollen isn't that good enough or is this a space shuttle mission LOL GM if they have them or any quality company that has them in moulded hose

Mine look good to. But you don't have an opti to worry about.

I'll check it out, thanks. As far as I know, Samco doesn't sell the heater hoses.

I believe its for the throttle body coolant line. If you've bypassed no need for it.

I'm about to do the bypass. Do I just put a brass fitting on the passenger side hose?

Yes brass union hose barb size 1/2" at hardware store fits 5/8" heater hose in place of tee, worked well for me when I installed 95-96 top rad. hose to delete t-body hoses.Caped t-body nipples with vacuum caps to keep bugs, dirt out.Looked at Samco site ,says 2 rad hoses,2 heater hoses but must be for lt4 or 5 engine, they didn't say witch engine application.Shows short 90 and another 5/8" hose.

The samco kit I bought, said "92-96 LT1 Corvette". The upper hose comes as one piece, so you have to do the bypass on the passenger side of throttle body as well. I imagine if you don't, coolant will shoot outta the driver's side TB
coolant line?

Oh, it comes with one super tiny hose. It's cute And also comes with the heater hose for the driver's side of the TB. Which makes no sense. Now, I want to switch them all to Samco. But seems they only these 4 hoses.

I can't get the hose clamp on the left to clear the T. Nor does the right side hose want to come off. Seems like I have to cut them?

Maybe you should replace heater hoses also.I used all new hoses from Rock Auto when I did complete flush and t-body bypass only one of the hoses was not correct, it was the one from the pump to tee. Listed for that hose but was different then hose on my 94 LT1. Had to use a straight hose there, but no problem they were all original and I wasn't taking any chances with new coolant or get stranded if old hose let go away from home, just for piece of mind knowing that all hoses, t-stat, knocks, cap, coolant where new. Yes Summit has heater hoses 5/8" and 3/4"

Your welcome,I think you may have to use 2 replacement hoses, the one from tank to tee is bigger on tank end 15/16" then 3/4 at tee end where you put union for bypass, also J shaped hose at heater core to tank has to be molded I think, but they are available. One other thing I could not find brass 3/4 hose barb, I had to use plastic,I used 1/2' on other heater hose.Don"t forget about new restrictor valve, it just cuts down flow rate.

I'm gonna piece both heater hoses from samco. They don't have choices for 15/16. Do you think if I buy 1 inch, it'll be too much? They also sell J shaped hoses.

Just had a concern. Will it matter if I don't use the water flow control valve? The lower heater hose has one in it.

Only one flow valve on car ,the one in 5/8 pump to core hose, you got it. They, Samco, also make J hoses? KOOL The tank to tee hose is 15/16 one end and 3/4 oyhrt end but going to the 3/4 hose barb coupling, 1' might work as 3/4 hose is really tight I had to lube it to slide it together. Then you could go back to 3/4 hose coupling to pump. Would only need 1 foot of 1" to try it.
