parts breakdown diagram
hi all
im a nube to the vette world, i did a search but no joy..
is there a website that lists our cars with parts diagrams and part numbers? these are common in powersports, and most helpful.
i need a few things for my 93 such as console lock parts, it would be great to see what parts i need to search out...
thanks

I like this one. I use it with my parts book CD to get part numbers.

I'm probably one of the few that still enjoys paging through a hard copy. I happen to have three - cause, one's never enough -
since you have a 93, this would fit the bill. note in the pic, 93 was the last printing. copies can be found for around $50 on fleabay - even NOS copies. great source of info - whether it's hardcopy or CD/pdf
edit: just in case anyone is wondering why I have 3, here's the story. I originally bought an 84-92 version back in the late 90's for working on my 85. when I gave my son the car in 2008, and the manual went with it. I replaced the 85 with my steel blue 90, and purchased a second copy (84-93 version). surfing fleabay, I found a NOS 93 version (still shrink wrapped) for $45 (BIN) and couldn't resist. I get my 85 back in 2014, along with my original manual, so now I have three. anyway, that's my story, and i'm sticking to it.... -

I'd think that you first visit a "local" GM dealer (Chevy might be preferred but certainly not required), take your VIN and a snapshot of the SPID label on your console door with a list of interest. Snapshots of "parts of interest" might be good. Ask if there's maybe someone in the parts dept that maybe owns or is very familiar with the C4 Corvette. Don't expect everyone in the department to be familiar with a 24 year old car that many dealers didn't sell that many of anyway. You just want someone that's interested. Being "new" I'd maybe be prepared to leave the list. A "relationship" with a GM parts person will do you well.
Get familiar with your SPID and options.
Obsolete paper catalogs are certainly of value for "research" and "reference" but by no means are the answer for everyone. I have them but I don't believe it's a "must buy" for most. I use the link that Cliff mentioned frequently but I've a couple local dealers I rely on for purchases and information. I've a couple other GM vehicles so a relationship is important.
